Following an alleged machete attack in Melbourne that left a 14-year-old boy on the verge of losing his hand, a group of criminals have fled the scene.
Following an incident between the kid and a group of individuals on Sutton Street in North Melbourne early yesterday morning, police believe the boy was reportedly abused.
Before being discovered by a stranger and sent to the hospital, he was left bleeding alone on the street.
The victim’s mother, who wished to remain unnamed, said Wednesday that it’s possible her son will never be able to use his hand again.
She said, “I feel numb in my heart.
“This is my son. He is a part of me and not something distinct from me.
The mother claimed that her son was only a short distance from home when he allegedly came under machete attack.
“He called me and said, ‘Mum, I’m downstairs in an ambulance,'” he said. My hand was severed. I quickly changed, then hurried downstairs.
“When we got to the hospital, he was just screaming because it was so bad.”
The teen underwent an 18-hour operation for his hand and is still being treated in the hospital.
According to police, the criminals fled the scene, and the investigation is still open.
