After prominent Sydney campaigner Danny Lim allegedly suffered an assault last week at a train station, a man has been prosecuted.
After the alleged incident on September 22 at about 4 p.m. at Strathfield station, where he was canvassing for the Yes vote ahead of the referendum, Lim, 79, was rushed to the hospital with facial injuries.
It is unknown if Lim got into a dispute with someone for their disagreement with his opinions over The Voice.
According to a statement from NSW Police, “Police will allege in court that a 66-year-old man approached a 79-year-old man before punching and kicking him.”
The 79-year-old man was given on-site care by paramedics from NSW Ambulance before being transferred to Concord Hospital. Since then, he’s been freed.
At around 7 a.m. today, police detained the 66-year-old at a residence in Homebush West.
