While onshore in Vanuatu, a passenger aboard an Australian cruise ship passed away.
The passenger of P&O Cruises’ newest cruise ship, the Pacific Adventure, perished at Mystery Island, the company has revealed.
The spokeswoman for P&O Cruises Australia said, “P&O Cruises Australia can confirm a guest of Pacific Adventure tragically passed away while in port at Mystery Island, Vanuatu.”
“We are doing everything we can to support their loved ones at this trying time, and we send our sincere condolences to their families.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further as we are coordinating with the appropriate authorities and to protect the privacy of the family.”
Another cruise passenger perished in the water at Mystery Island in May of this year.
Carnival, the cruise line that operated it, reported that the fatality happened “following what appears to be a medical situation while swimming.”
