After a motorcycle accident, a Perth couple passed away, leaving their six-year-old boy without parents.
Around 9.20 p.m. on Sunday, Paul Pearce and his partner Lynette Reader were riding along Pinjar Road in Tapping when they crossed a crest and hit a vehicle.
The Toyota’s 43-year-old driver was struck as she was turning a corner. She merely got a scratch on her eye.
39-year-old Pearce passed away there. Reader was taken to the hospital urgently, but there was no saving her.
A young, devoted couple that treasured their son greatly. I can only say, ‘taken too soon,’ said Reader’s mother in a statement.
Her brother continued, “Lynette would light up the room wherever she went; her smile and laughter were contagious to many.
Police are looking into whether speed played a role in the fatal collision. It is believed that the couple, who were a short distance from their home at the time of the accident, had just sold their motorcycle.
WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch stated, “It’s another very strong and sad reminder that riding a motorcycle is a dangerous way to get around, and you’ve got to be very careful about the way you execute your driving on a motorcycle.”
