Police are advising a man who they suspect was shot in the chest early yesterday morning in Melbourne’s south-east to get medical attention.
Anthony Scott, 37, is said to have been shot in the upper body during a heated altercation in Narre Warren around 12.45 am, according to police.
When police arrived at the scene of a shooting in Warrington Close, Scott and another guy had allegedly already departed.
Scott was last reportedly spotted later that morning, about 3am, in the Forrest Hill neighborhood.
“Our priority is to ensure he receives medical attention for his injuries and to determine if there are any other persons needing assistance,” a police spokesman said.
Police believe the alleged attack in Narre Warren was targeted even though they are still looking into the situation.
The man’s friends and family are being urged by the police to convince him to get medical attention and call the authorities.
Police advised the public not to approach the man and to phone Triple-Zero instead because they believed he might be in possession of a handgun.
