In the midst of a fresh appeal for assistance from the public, police have identified the intended victim of a shooting that left a nine-year-old girl wounded in Sydney’s south last year.
Emergency personnel were called to a home at Connells Point at around 5.50 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, after hearing reports of gunfire.
A girl was found injured, and officers administered first aid before escorting her to the hospital.
For her wounds, she required several surgery.
Two other kids and a mother at the house were unharmed.
Police seized a red Mini Cooper, a burned-out black BMW, and a gun discovered in surrounding wilderness for further investigation.
Since then, three persons have been detained and charged in relation to the shooting; they are still in custody.
Police confirmed this morning that the father of the injured daughter is thought to have been the intended target of the shooting.
In addition, police are looking for information concerning a third vehicle, a black Toyota Aurion with green P plates, which they say was used to transport the alleged shooters from a Westmead house to the black BMW before the incident.
