In regards to a teenager who has vanished in Far North Queensland, police say they are quite concerned.
The 17-year-old Markyia Major from Yarrabah, close to Cairns, hasn’t spoken to his family in a month or accessed his bank account.
Police in Cairns, Australia, according to Acting Detective Inspector Jason Chetham, have started a thorough investigation into the odd nature of the man’s disappearance.
“His mum tells us that she would have certainly expected contact well before now,” a man holding a Queensland Police sign while sporting a blue shirt and striped tie said in front of the sign.
He claimed that on September 2, the teenager’s mother reported him missing, and that right away, a missing person inquiry was started.
Acting Detective Inspector Chetham stated that the boy’s mother had been “conducting her own inquiries in the background” before approaching police and that she last saw the boy on August 15 at a residence in the Cairns suburb of Westcourt.
He claimed that the youngster had acted in a “quite normal” manner, that he had not mentioned leaving the area, and that there had not been any conflict with the boy’s family.
Acting Detective Inspector Chetham explained, “We know he has a large circle of pals that he associates with and hangs around with, so we’ve been working our way through that.
Acting Detective Inspector Chetham responded that police were “keeping an open mind” when asked if they had any suspicions of wrongdoing.
He explained, “We just aren’t aware that we are looking into it as a missing person’s report.
Markyia is described as being 150 centimeters tall, thin, and having curly, black hair that is around shoulder length.
