Police are negotiating with a man while setting up an exclusion zone in a neighbourhood along the Queensland coast.
Just after 3:20 pm, the Pashley Street and Aerodrome Road bounded region of Clinton, Gladstone, placed the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) into effect.
Around 11.40 am, Queensland Police went to a house inside the exclusion zone for the first time, and hours later, specialized police are still negotiating with a man.
Police have asked the general population to stay away from the area.
It has been requested that everyone inside the exclusion zone remain there until further notice.
