Police in Sydney’s south are looking into whether a father was street racing before to the horrible collision that claimed the lives of his two nephews and injured his daughter.
The boys, who were nine and ten years old, perished after a Subaru WRX collided with a tree on The Grand Parade in Monterey at around 9.50 p.m.
Paramedics attended to them at the site and transported them to Sydney Children’s Hospital, where they passed away.
The 33-year-old driver’s daughter, who is nine years old, was hospitalized for minor injuries.
Police will be looking into whether the car was street racing prior to the collision, according to Inspector Jason Hogan.
According to medical advice, we will look to interrogate and charge him later. “He has some serious injuries related to the crash,” Hogan said.
In addition to speaking with the girl who survived the disaster, he said crash investigators will try to determine the speed of the car before to the collision.
We will communicate with her as soon as we can. She is stable in the hospital.
“There have been two innocent little children killed in a very dreadful crash.
“We will stay in touch with every member of the family to ensure their welfare going forward and to keep them updated on the progress of the rest of our investigation,” the statement reads.
He stated that they needed help from the general public to identify a grey automobile that was in the opposite lane at the time of the collision.
We would like to speak with the driver of the car to find out what they witnessed and any possible course of action.
