The $19 million sporting complex in Western Sydney is almost finished, and the neighborhood is seeing a big housing boom.
North Kellyville was formerly farmland, but in the last five years, 13,000 people have moved there, and $100 million has been invested in parks and sports facilities.
The Samantha Riley Drive Reserve sports complex will be finished next month, which will benefit local sports clubs.
Hills Shire Mayor Peter Gangemi commented, “Whether you are here for sport or just to enjoy the outdoors… it’s a wonderful space.”
“In the Hills, we have a very active population. These families want a park nearby, and they want a sports field in the suburbs.”
An additional 14,000 new houses will be constructed in the Hills during the following five years.
The council is working to maintain the area’s reputation as the “garden shire” and its abundance of green space.
