Major crime detectives are en route to a small town in Western Australia’s north to look into the death of a newborn after it was discovered in an unresponsive state inside of a car.
Police were called to a hospital in Fitzroy Crossing after an 18-month-old infant was discovered unconscious in a car on Tuesday, according to WA Police Commissioner Col. Blanch.
The infant passed away after the hospital was unable to save him.
Such a heartbreaking tale, especially for a little town like Fitzroy Crossing, Blanch added.
Major crime detectives, he claimed, were their route from Perth to the isolated town to look into the tragedy, as well as the reason the infant was in the car and how long it had been left there.
According to Blanch, the police are considering it as a “family matter” and the youngster is not in foster care.
The entire neighbourhood is in serious turmoil, not just the family, Blanch added.
The police there are doing everything they can to spend as much time as possible with the community and help them navigate this because it truly rocks a town like that very hard.
