A man who reportedly punched a police officer at a gas station in Sydney’s west was caught on CCTV.
As part of preventative control, undercover cops yesterday stopped to chat with the driver of a red Mercedes at a gas station on the M4 at Eastern Creek.
Maika Ufi, a passenger, allegedly exited the vehicle, struck an officer before attempting to flee, prompting police to approach the vehicle.
The suspect was apprehended by police after a brief foot pursuit, but he kept punching and kicking the officers, according to NSW Police.
According to authorities, the 29-year-old was sought after on an outstanding warrant.
He was brought into custody and accused with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and having tools for breaking into houses at Bankstown Police Station.
Police reported that the outstanding warrant had also been carried out.
At today’s Blacktown Local Court, bail was not granted.
