Three armed men forced their way into a property in Sydney’s west last month during an aggravated burglary, and a man has been detained for his alleged involvement.
Just before 10 o’clock on July 19, 2023, police were informed that shots had been fired at a residence in Lidcombe.
Police claim that the males intimidated and abused a 31-year-old man before escaping shortly after.
Paramedics attended to the injured man on the spot. A 30-year-old female who was in the building was unharmed.
Two search warrants were carried out in Marys and Werrington yesterday at about 8.45am after a thorough investigation.
At the residences, police allegedly discovered and seized a rifle, ammo, drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia, and technological equipment.
Later on, police detained two guys, ages 27 and 29, at a hotel in Scott Street, Liverpool.
They were escorted to Liverpool Police Station, where the younger man was charged with special aggravated break and enter conduct severe indictable offence-weapon as well as firing firearm at dwelling-house with disregard for safety.
He was denied bail so that he could appear today at Liverpool Local Court.
The elder man was given bail after being accused of obstructing officers from performing their duties.
On September 6, 2023, he will appear in Liverpool Local Court.
The investigation was first carried out by Strike Force Lovelock, but it later became a component of Task Force Magnus, which aims to target and disrupt violent crime involving guns and to look into organized crime.
