In Far North Queensland, a guy has been seen fishing by the edge of a riverbank, seemingly unaware of the enormous crocodile lazing on the shore.
A man is captured on camera fishing in the Russell River south of Cairns as a crocodile stands a few metres behind him and keeps an eye on him.
Clyde, a crocodile well-known to the inhabitants of Babinda, has since been identified as the victim.
The fisherman was being filmed by a man who branded him “stupid” and claimed the crocodile was almost twice as big as him.
Tommy Hayes, a crocodile expert, said on Today that the public didn’t appear to be understanding the government’s “croc wise” message.
Hayes remarked, “I know he isn’t dead, which is a good thing.
