A school minibus has flipped over in the Hawkesbury region of New South Wales.
Around 3.20 p.m., the bus collided with a dark grey ute and crashed near the intersection of Windsor Street and West Market Street in Richmond.
There are no significant injuries among the children.
Six children had been picked up from their elementary school shortly after 3 p.m. and were being transferred to Little Sparkles Early Learning Centre in Agnes Banks for after school care.
“All of the children managed to get out of the bus unassisted,” NSW Police stated in a statement.
“A number of the children suffered minor cuts and scratches and are being treated on the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.”
According to police, the driver was brought to the hospital for required tests.
“Road diversions are in place, and West Market Street remains closed to traffic.”
According to the daycare center, the bus was equipped with seatbelts.
The passengers were extraordinarily fortunate, according to NSW Ambulance spokesperson Rebecca Tulk.
“It’s a timely reminder to all of us to wear seatbelts whenever we’re in a vehicle,” Tulk added.
Susan, who observed the crash, stated that the youngsters appeared startled but unharmed.
“The children I see are school-aged, probably primary school-aged,” Susan explained.
She stated that traffic appeared to be moving smoothly because it was just affecting one little part of Richmond’s major roadway.
The ute was towed away for inspection by a tow vehicle.
