In relation to the stabbing and robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Queensland last evening, four adolescent lads have been detained.
Approximately 7.15 p.m., a Domino’s delivery man was delivering a pizza to a residence in Ipswich’s Bellbird Park when he allegedly came face to face with four juveniles.
When the 40-year-old went outside to deliver the pizza, he discovered that the homeowners had never placed a pizza order and that another else had used their address.
Before the horrible ambush, in which the worker is said to have been stabbed numerous times in the torso, the group was seen approaching the worker as he made his way back to his car on surveillance footage.
Surprisingly, the driver was badly hurt but quickly recovered enough to get back behind the wheel.
The man returned to Dominos after a five-minute walk, when, according to Mark News, a staff member rendered first assistance.
When the paramedics came, they sent the injured worker to the hospital, where his condition is stable.
Police continued to search the delivery car while they remained in the parking lot.
Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll stated, “To attack someone who is going about their work is just something utterly terrible and wrong.
Four teenage guys were detained by police shortly after on the neighbouring Redbank Plains.
The charges against two 17-year-olds, a 16-year-old, and a 15-year-old included armed robbery and actions meant to cause great bodily damage.
All four will appear in Ipswich Children’s Court after being denied bail.
