According to officials, a shooting spree in the US city of Philadelphia resulted in the deaths of four persons and the injuries of two children, ages two and thirteen.
According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle M. Outlaw, a suspect was captured after a shooting that covered several blocks in or around the Kingsessing area and involved an AR-style rifle, a handgun, a bulletproof vest, numerous ammo magazines in the vest, and a scanner.
According to Outlaw, there was apparently another guy in jail who might have picked up someone else’s gun and opened fire back.
Police stated that the ages of three of the four fatalities ranged from 20 to 59.
The fourth’s age wasn’t immediately known.
The wounded kids’ status were stable, according to Outlaw.
According to authorities, investigators don’t yet know what precipitated the incident.
According to Outlaw, the gunshot sites are covered in about 50 spent shell casings.
Police had earlier reported that eight persons had been hurt.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been at least 339 mass shootings in the United States thus far this year.
A mass shooting is one in which four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter, according to the archive and CNN.
