A man has been accused of killing an 87-year-old man in Noosa Heads, Queensland, last month.
On Sunday, June 18, at around 6 a.m., emergency personnel were rushed to the scene on Hastings Street. John Kerr, a local of Noosa, passed away shortly after.
Kerr was discovered face-up on a boardwalk path with significant facial injuries.
The next day, a 27-year-old Gympie man was arrested and is now facing murder charges.
According to the police, the two men were strangers.
More details are expected from them this afternoon.
Kerr was regarded and liked by many people in the Noosa neighbourhood.
He was a Noosa Golf Club member of 28 years and the grandfather of nine grandchildren.
Where the man was discovered by onlookers, police have set up a crime scene.
