A man has been accused in connection with a boat accident that claimed the lives of two adolescent girls late last year in Tamworth in northwest New South Wales.
The children, who were 13 and 14, were reportedly being towed behind a boat on an inflatable when they struck a tree stump at Rushes Creek off Lake Keepit on December 27 at around 5 o’clock.
Before paramedics arrived, members of the public tried CPR on the girls, but they were unable to be saved.
A 73-year-old man has been accused of running a recreational watercraft carelessly and causing death.
He has been given a notice to appear in court the following month, and a report will be made for the coroner.
