After a guy allegedly tried to flee a Queensland automobile wreck, a group of tradies carried out a citizen’s arrest.
Just after 11 a.m. today at Broadbeach, a Ford Mondeo that was allegedly stolen collided with a power pole.
Apparently, the man tried to flee the scene before being pursued by two construction workers who were taking a smoke break when they saw the accident.
Local homeowner Bobby-Jo Campbell ran in to help the tradesmen restrain the man after hearing the crash from his home.
He recalled, “I was ready to prepare a coffee when I heard the smash outside.
“(I) came out to see all the boys on the construction site there running after some bloke, and I jumped off my balcony to try to help out.”
Until the cops arrived, the gang kept the man restrained.
“They did a terrific job, but I don’t support it. However, they did a fantastic job of apprehending that individual today, according to Sergeant Mitch Grey.
On Tuesday, the vehicle was reported stolen from Bilambil Heights in New South Wales.
Prior to his arrest today, Queensland Police had the individual on its wanted list.
