Before a man was shot dead in a heinous daylight attack in Sydney’s southwest, police say two groups of men met.
About 4.3 o’clock on Sunday in Granville, the 44-year-old was shot in the left shoulder as he climbed into a black BMW.
Police officers discovered the unidentified man sitting in the gutter and administered first aid to him.
After then, paramedics attempted to save him but were unsuccessful.
Apparently a “quiet street” with an Australia Post office is where the two gangs met up, according to the police.
Andy Holland, the superintendent, stated that it appeared that two groups of Asian men had met there, that a man had been shot at some time, and that the man was now dead.
The victim is well-known to the police; we are unsure of the victim’s connections to organised crime at this time, but the meeting between the two groups suggests the attack was deliberate.
They “clearly met for a reason”
Police have established four crime scenes, one of which is on Enid Street, and have discovered two weapons.
In addition, “a number of” automobiles have been impounded, according to reports that numerous vehicles fled the site of the incident.
According to Holland, they’re not sure if several booms they heard at the scene were gunshots.
Two men are using translators to assist police with their inquiries, but no arrests have been made.
