After allegedly running over and murdering two individuals with a ute while driving over the legal limit, a motorist has been charged with a number of offenses.
The two males, 36 and 41, allegedly fell to the ground and were run over by the ute at around 7 p.m. last night on Condie Crescent in North Nowra, on the New South Wales South Coast.
Following the incident, the male driver, 27, allegedly gave a positive breath test result.
Both men died at the scene, according to a statement from NSW Police. “Bystanders rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived,” the statement read.
After being detained, the driver was escorted to the Nowra Police Station for a breath test before being taken to the hospital for required testing.
The North Nowra man was accused of driving while intoxicated with a middle-range recommended concentration, driving negligently (occasioning death), and engaging in unsafe driving.
He was denied bail and is scheduled to show up in court today in Nowra.
