Following its investigation into claims of racism at the Hawthorn Football Club, an independent panel reached no negative conclusions on past senior coaches and managers.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan stated the First Nations players and families involved in the investigation had come to an understanding and “wish to resolve all differences with the AFL” in a press conference.
Alastair Clarkson, Chris Fagan, and former welfare manager Jason Burt have not faced any accusations or negative conclusions as a result.
The AFL commended the panel’s members and chairman, Bernard Quinn KC, for their efforts throughout the course of the investigation’s seven-month period.
The Binmada report was released without giving those facing significant allegations a chance to respond, according to the AFL, which said that everyone at the club experienced a period of “high distress” during that time.
