After allegedly firing a gun in a Perth school’s parking lot, a teenage boy was detained.
Atlantis Beach Baptist College in Two Rocks, in the city’s outer northern suburbs, received a call from the police at around 11.50 a.m., according to authorities.
It is believed that the 15-year-old opened fire in the school’s parking lot, putting a nearby childcare and medical center on lockdown.
At this time, the school is on lockdown, and a suspect has been taken into custody, according to Inspector Geoff DeSanges of the WA Police.
“I want to reassure the parents and the neighborhood that there are many police officers on the scene and that we are taking care of the situation.
At this time, there are no reports of anyone being hurt.
Three shots were heard, according to witnesses, and parents are waiting in line to pick up their children from school.
As the inquiry progresses, police have requested that the public allow them some room.
