Yesterday afternoon, a two-car collision in Queensland’s Wide Bay region resulted in the death of a mother and the survival of a small child.
Around 3.45 pm, a Ford Ranger pulling a caravan and an orange MG wagon crashed on the Bruce Highway in Chatsworth, close to Gympie.
The MG’s Tiana, Queensland, driver, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Queensland Police.
A seven-year-old girl who was a passenger in the MG was transported to Gympie Hospital with minor injuries.
The Ranger’s 76-year-old Valdora driver was treated at Gympie Hospital for minor wounds, according to a statement from Queensland Police.
A 72-year-old Valdora woman who was the only passenger was sent to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with critical chest injuries.
