According to police, two teens have been detained after an inquiry into the alleged stabbing of a security guard on Friday in Adelaide’s central business district.
When a security guard attempted to apprehend four alleged burglars at a sports store at City Cross Arcade, off of Rundle Mall, just before 5:30pm, police claim he was stabbed in the abdomen.
The security guard was allegedly stabbed by one of the men in the gang, who then fled with the other three.
The security guard received non-life threatening treatment from paramedics on the scene before being transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Police said they have since charged a 14-year-old O’Sullivan Beach kid with aggravated assault and a 15-year-old Flinders Park boy with aggravated affray following their investigations.
Both lads will appear in Adelaide Youth Court on Monday after being denied bail.
According to the police, they are still looking for two additional individuals.
An incident allegedly started when a youngster approached a 51-year-old man on North Terrace near the Adelaide Railway Station.
The man apparently saw the teenager wave a pair of scissors, cutting his chin slightly.
After receiving first assistance from bystanders, the guy was taken with non-life-threatening wounds to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The suspect, who was last seen sprinting north over North Terrace and down Station Road in the direction of the Festival Plaza, was described by police as a male youth of Aboriginal appearance wearing black Adidas clothes.
