Holy Ramadan begins in Sydney on March 23 and 24

Holy Ramadan will start in Australia tomorrow from March 23 (Thursday) and March 24 (Friday). According to the sources of various Australian imams and scholars organization “MoonSighting Australia”, New South Wales, Capital Territory, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and Perth have said that they will start fasting from March 24 (Friday) as the Ramadan moon was not seen today.

On the other hand, the Australian National Imam Council has already announced the start of the holy Ramadan from tomorrow, March 23 (Thursday).

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to recite the following dua in preparation for Ramadan from the beginning of the month of Rajam, “Allahuma barik lana fi Rajaba wa Shaban wa Ballygna Ramadan.” Meaning: O Allah! Bless us Rajab and Sha’ban and prolong our lives till Ramadan.
