A teenage woman from the Gold Coast has been charged with assaulting a bus driver and an elderly grandmother.
After boarding a bus on The Esplanade in Paradise Point on a Friday afternoon and refusing to pay her money, the 22-year-old was approached.
After spitting on the 51-year-old driver, the woman allegedly punched him in the face and arms.
On The Esplanade at Paradise Point, the lady allegedly assaulted a bus driver and an elderly woman.
An 85-year-old resident of Paradise Point who attempted to step in was allegedly beaten as well.
The woman was taken out of the bus by the driver, and until the police arrived, several bystanders “helped in holding” her.
Charges against the Hollywell woman include one count each of fare evasion, attacks causing bodily harm, and serious assault (person over 60).
She was given bail and will show up in Southport Magistrates Court the following month.
