Bangladesh’s first series win on South Africa

Published on

Bangladesh cricketers made history by defeating the cricket superpower like South Africa on their own country.

Bangladesh’s victory was expected after Taskin Ahmed’s bowling attack. The rest of the match was on the batsmen hand to complete the formalities. It was to see how easily they could carry out that responsibility.

As much as the bowlers made the series-determining match easier by bowling out South Africa for 154, the batsmen made rest of the task easier. Especially captain Tamim Iqbal. His impeccable partnership of 127 runs with Liton Das brought the victory in the hands of Bangladesh.

Although Liton was out in the end, the captain left the field with Shakib Al Hasan after winning the match by 9 wickets at Centurion’s Super Sports Park. Bangladesh cricketers made history by defeating a cricket superpower like South Africa on their own soil.

Bangladesh has never won a match in any format on South African. Not just the match there, the series win was incredible.
