A manslaughter charge has been filed against a 16-year-old boy following a collision north of Brisbane involving an allegedly stolen Audi, which killed a woman and injured two police officers.
A woman reported that her Audi had been stolen at gunpoint at 9.30am, prompting the initial police response to Dohles Rocks Road in Griffin.
The driver of the Audi, whose identity has not been disclosed, was accompanied by Todd Whisson, who discussed the incident, on their way to a painting lesson.
“They stopped and they said, ‘Give us your car, give us your keys or we’ll shoot ya’,” said Whisson.
She has merely handed them the keys, allowed them to use the vehicle, and departed.
“So we just comforted her for a couple of hours” .
After waiting around fifteen minutes, the Audi was involved in an accident with a Toyota sedan that was making a right turn in Murrumba Downs, as reported by the police.
An unmarked police vehicle that had been sent to the area to search for the stolen vehicle was also struck by the Audi in the collision.
Inside the police cruiser, two officers sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Inside the Toyota sat a 69-year-old woman who had no way out.
Paramedics and police tried cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her, but she was pronounced dead at the site.
Tragic circumstances were the cause of the woman’s death, according to Acting Chief Superintendent Adam Guild.
At the scene, he said, authorities discovered a gun.
The police have released a photo of what appears to be another stolen vehicle that was in the vicinity before to the Audi’s alleged theft.
The 16-year-old, who was under hospital watch tonight, may have ties to the people living there, according to authorities.
The woman’s Audi was followed by a Holden hatchback just moments before the suspected carjacking.

After being rushed to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, the 16-year-old boy was apprehended at the scene.
It was a “harrowing” occurrence, according to Premier David Crisafulli.
“A family is coming to terms with the loss of a loved one and the thoughts and prayers of an entire state are with them,” a statement issued by X stated.
He assured the family and first responders of his support and promised that the government will take action soon.
Detectives and forensics experts spent the morning at the scene, helping the police piece together what happened.
According to Guild, the adolescent was already known to the authorities and had legal issues pending.
