The south-west of Sydney crime has startled the son of an elderly man who pretended to be dead after robbers threatened him with a gun.
Around 11 p.m., the burglars broke into the Edward Street house of Dimos, 81, and Vicky, 76.
Vicky had reportedly dozed out in the living area and was restrained by one of the guys, according to NSW Police.
In his bedroom, Dimos was attacked and threatened with a gun before the guys “fled with a small amount of cash, a safe, and the keys to their sedan,” according to NSW Police.
To prevent additional harm, Dimos pretended he had died.
Locally, the pair runs a bakery.
George, their son, claimed he had never heard of it before and believed the region to be secure.
George added, “Mum, while mentally she’s having some trouble, physically she’s fine.”
Dad is the complete opposite; he is more physically aggressive and has suffered injuries, but mentally he is one of those old strong people.
According to 9News, the three criminals took the couple’s automobile, but they were unable to drive manual, so they only managed to travel 15 meters before crashing it.
“The man was treated for minor injuries at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition,” NSW Police said in a statement.
The woman was taken to the hospital even though she wasn’t hurt.
As they look for the three males, police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
