Two teenage males have been accused of murder by Homicide Squad investigators following the death of a woman in Melbourne’s inner north on Wednesday night.
A 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were each charged with one count of murder on Friday evening, according to a statement from Victoria Police.
The allegations concern Hannah Pringle’s death after she was discovered gravely hurt on April 5 at a residence on Stafford Street in Abbotsford.
Ms. Pringle, 41, was rushed to the hospital but passed away from her injuries soon after.
A 13-year-old kid who had also been at the house, according to Victoria Police, was unharmed.
The accused teenagers will next appear in front of a juvenile court, according to the police.
Ms. Pringle is recalled as a “highly respected and valued member” of their team by her coworkers at the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA).
CEO Stephen Leane said, “We are shocked and extremely saddened, and our thoughts and sympathies continue to be with her family, friends, and coworkers.
Before transitioning to call-taking for fires, Ms. Pringle worked as a police and SES call-taker when she first joined the ESTA in 2012.
She most recently worked as a police dispatcher and workplace trainer at the ESTA learning center, according to Mr. Leane.
Even while nothing will lessen the agony of losing a loved one, Mr. Leane stated, “we will continue to focus on offering comprehensive support and care to her family, colleagues, and everyone else affected by her passing.”
